Variations in the ramification of the aberrant right hepatic artery.

چکیده
The origin and the ramification of the celiac trunk and its branches are commonly as follows. The celiac trunk has the three branches; the common hepatic, the splenic and the left gastric artery. The common hepatic artery divides into the gastroduodenal and the proper hepatic artery which has the right hepatic, the left hepatic and the cystic artery. Although variations in the ramification of the celiac trunk have attracted many anatomists as well as many surgeons, there have been a few reports on the ramification of the aberrant right hepatic artery (Adachi, 1928; Michels, 1953). Adachi described and classified the ramification of the aberrant right hepatic artery by using 252 Japanese subjects and also described that the occurrence of the aberrant right hepatic arteries divided from the superior mesenteric artery was 11 of 252 cadevers (Adachi, 1928). Michels reported the aberrant right hepatic artery of 52 bodies among 200 subjects and the most frequent source (in 32 of 52 bodies) was the superior mesenteric artery (Michels, 1973). Further, Basmajian described that the percentage frequency of the aberrant right hepatic arteries divided from the superior mesenteric arteries was 12% in 165 specimens (Basmajian, 1980). In this paper the variations of the ramification of the aberrant right hepatic artery will be described, discussed and corresponded to the types of the Adachi's classification.

A case of aberrant bilateral vertebral arteries orgin presenting with right VA dissection
Background: Knowledge of variations in the origin of vertebral artery (VA) is indispensable to vascular surgeons. Aberrant origin of vertebral artery on either side is an uncommon finding. There are unilateral and bilateral variability in VA origin. Case presentation: We present a case of vertebral artery dissection who was found to have bilateral VAs aberrant origin. The right VA took origin ...
متن کاملAberrant Radial Artery Causing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Anatomical vascular variations are rare causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. An aberrant medial artery is the most common vascular variation, while an aberrant radial artery causing carpal tunnel syndrome is even more rare, with an incidence ranging less than 3%. This article reports a patient with compression of the median nerve at the carpal tunnel by an aberrant superficial branch of the radi...
متن کاملMultiple variations of branches of abdominal aorta.
The abdominal aorta and its major branches supply oxygenated blood to nearly all the organs in the abdominal cavity. During routine dissection (January 2009) of a middle aged male cadaver at Dr. PSIMS, Gannavaram, Krishna Dist. (INDIA), the following variations of branches of abdominal aorta were found. The coeliac trunk gave off three branches. The first branch was left inferior phrenic artery...

ABSTRACT Anatomical variations have great importance among various medical disciplins. The significance of these variations differ from some points of view including system, site and degree of variation. Vascular system is a common site of variations. The importance of this system in supplying the organs, specially the brain has made it to be in focus for its variations. The main sourc...
متن کاملAberrant Right Hepatic Artery in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
INTRODUCTION Presented herein is a case in which an aberrant right hepatic artery (RHA) passes anterior to the infundibulum and fundus of the gallbladder and courses to an unusually anterior hepatic entry. CASE REPORT A 54-year-old female with a history of biliary colic was scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Laparoscopic dissection revealed an aberrant right hepatic artery (RHA) ante...
